Electrocyclic Reactions

Electrocyclic Reactions is a type of pericyclic reaction characterized by the intramolecular rearrangement of electrons in a conjugated π-system to form a new σ-bond between the termini of the system, resulting in the reduction of the number of π-bonds and the formation of a cyclic product with specific stereochemistry governed by orbital symmetry.
