Effective Demand

Effective Demand is an economic concept in macroeconomics referring to the total demand for goods and services in an economy at a given price level and time, where aggregate demand is realized through actual expenditure rather than intended or desired spending, thus distinguishing it from notional demand by incorporating the effects of price rigidities, income distribution, and market clearing conditions.
