Eddy Filaments

Eddy Filaments is a mesoscale oceanographic construct defined as a thin, elongated structure of intense vorticity and tracer gradients that originates from the instability and subsequent deformation of the outer edges of mesoscale eddies, thereby distinguishing it from the broader rotational core by its filamentary geometry and role in enhancing cross-domain exchange processes.
