Early Gothic

Early Gothic is a phase of Gothic art, distinguished from subsequent developments by its initial synthesis of Romanesque traditions with emerging structural innovations such as pointed arches, ribbed vaults, and flying buttresses, particularly evident in the architectural transformations centered in the Île-de-France during the twelfth century.
