Drum-buffer-rope

Drum-Buffer-Rope is a production control framework within pull-based manufacturing systems that synchronizes workflow by setting a pacing mechanism (drum), protecting against variability with time or capacity buffers (buffer), and releasing materials in response to actual consumption signals (rope), thereby distinguishing it from conventional push-oriented planning methods.
