Distorted Born Approximation

The "Distorted Born Approximation" is a linearization method in electromagnetic inverse scattering that approximates the unknown object's effect on the incident field by incorporating a background Green's function computed from an inhomogeneous medium, thereby distinguishing itself from the classical Born Approximation through the inclusion of a distorted, rather than uniform, background field.
