Discontinuous Pulse-width Modulation

Discontinuous Pulse-Width Modulation is a modulation technique in power electronics, belonging to the class of pulse-width modulation strategies, distinguished by the intentional introduction of periods during which the switching devices remain inactive for a significant portion of the modulation cycle, thereby reducing switching losses and enabling discontinuous current flow in the output phase.
