Diffusion In Solids
Diffusion in Solids is a fundamental transport phenomenon in condensed matter physics and materials science wherein atoms or ions migrate through a crystalline or amorphous solid lattice via thermally activated mechanisms, distinguished from diffusion in fluids by the constraints imposed by the solid's structural periodicity and defect-mediated migration pathways.
