Dielectric Screening

Dielectric Screening is a physical phenomenon in which the polarization of a dielectric medium reduces the effective electric field experienced by a charge or dipole, thereby attenuating Coulombic interactions as a consequence of the material’s ability to sustain internal charge separation in response to an applied field.
