Derivative Loss

Derivative Loss is a legal claim for damages that arises when a family member suffers injury or death, distinguishing itself from direct claims by being predicated on the secondary, relational impact—such as loss of companionship, affection, or services—experienced by the claimant rather than the primary harm to the injured party.
