Delegated Access

Delegated Access is a formal authorization mechanism within health information exchange systems that enables a patient or legal data subject to grant a third party the conditional right to access, view, or manage specified portions of their protected health information, typically through a trusted intermediary, thereby distinguishing it from direct access by the individual or unrestricted data sharing.
