Deceleration Parameter
The deceleration parameter is a dimensionless cosmological parameter that quantifies the rate of change of the cosmic expansion acceleration, defined as the negative ratio of the second derivative of the scale factor to the square of the first derivative, distinguishing it from other kinematic parameters by characterizing the transition between decelerating and accelerating expansion phases in Friedmannian cosmology.
