Cycloreversion Reactions

Cycloreversion Reactions is a pericyclic reaction in which a cyclic molecule undergoes a concerted fragmentation to yield two or more unsaturated molecules through the cleavage of two σ-bonds and the concomitant formation of new π-bonds, distinguished from other pericyclic processes by its ring-opening, bond-breaking mechanism that reverses the outcome of cycloaddition reactions.
