Cyclonic Wind Forcing

Cyclonic Wind Forcing is a meteorological forcing mechanism characterized by the imposition of rotational wind stress patterns associated with low-pressure atmospheric systems that induce counterclockwise (in the Northern Hemisphere) or clockwise (in the Southern Hemisphere) surface wind circulation, thereby driving upward Ekman pumping and enhancing vertical mixing in the oceanic boundary layer.
