Cryptic Refugia

Cryptic Refugia is a type of glacial refugium distinguished by its location in small, isolated, and often topographically complex habitats that remained ice-free during glacial maxima, allowing species to persist undetected in proximity to, but ecologically distinct from, major known refugial areas.
