Cranial Vault Evolution

Cranial Vault Evolution is a theoretical construct in craniofacial evolution that specifically accounts for the morphological changes in the neurocranium’s dorsal and lateral bony structures over geological time, distinguishing it from other craniofacial components by its focus on braincase expansion, skull roof remodeling, and their adaptive, developmental, and functional correlates in hominin and primate lineages.
