Coupled Phase Transformation is a phase transformation mechanism during solidification in which two or more phases grow simultaneously in a coordinated manner from the same liquid front, driven by solute diffusion and interface kinetics, such that their growth velocities and compositions are interdependent and governed by a common thermodynamic and kinetic balance.
