Core-based Structural Systems
Core-Based Structural Systems is a structural system in tall building design wherein the primary vertical and lateral load-resisting mechanism consists of a central core, typically formed by reinforced concrete or steel walls, that distinguishes itself from other structural systems by concentrating the building’s stiffness and strength centrally to resist overturning moments and shear forces induced by gravity and lateral loads.
