Contourite Troughs

Contourite Troughs is a type of deep-marine erosional feature incised into continental slopes that is distinguished by its formation through the long-term action of deep-water bottom currents, which preferentially erode and confine sediment transport along isobaths to create elongate, seafloor-tracing depressions commonly aligned parallel to contourite drift systems.
