Contemplative Union

Contemplative Union is a theoretical construct within the field of contemplative studies that denotes the experiential integration of the practitioner with the divine or ultimate reality through sustained, non-discursive prayer, distinguished from other forms of prayer by its emphasis on passive receptivity, unitive awareness, and transcendence of discursive thought.
