Consular Functions

Consular Functions is the body of internationally regulated governmental activities exercised by a consular post under the authority of the sending State, which, distinct from diplomatic functions, consist in protecting and assisting the sending State’s nationals, safeguarding and promoting its interests, and performing specified administrative, documentary, and supervisory tasks vis-à-vis individuals and entities in the receiving State as defined principally by the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations and relevant domestic law.
