Consent Judgment Preclusion

Consent Judgment Preclusion is a doctrine within collateral estoppel that precludes relitigation of claims or issues resolved in a prior proceeding where the judgment was based on the parties’ consent rather than adjudication on the merits, thereby distinguishing it from preclusion arising from contested litigation.
