Connexon Structure

Connexon Structure is a supramolecular protein assembly belonging to the class of intercellular channel complexes, distinguished by its formation from six connexin subunits that oligomerize to create a hemichannel pore in the plasma membrane, enabling direct cytoplasmic exchange between adjacent cells upon docking with a complementary connexon on a neighboring cell.
