Congruence Modularity

Congruence Modularity is a property of a variety of algebras, in the context of Universal Algebra, distinguished by the modularity of its lattice of congruence relations, meaning that for any algebra in the variety, the congruence lattice satisfies the modular law: if α ≤ β, then α ∨ (β ∧ γ) = β ∧ (α ∨ γ) for all congruences α, β, γ.
