Column Load Transfer

Column Load Transfer is a structural engineering mechanism that describes the process by which axial and lateral forces from a column are transmitted through a mat foundation to the underlying soil, distinguishing it from other load transfer mechanisms by its reliance on the distributed bearing capacity and stiffness interaction of the continuous foundation-slab system.
