Cloud Ceiling Observation

Cloud Ceiling Observation is a meteorological measurement within aerodrome weather observation that specifies the height above ground level of the lowest layer of clouds or obscuring phenomena covering more than half the sky (i.e., okta 5/8 or greater), thereby distinguishing it from other visibility-related observations by quantifying the vertical obscuration critical for aviation safety and operational decision-making.
