Closed Suctioning

Closed Suctioning is a suctioning technique that belongs to the class of airway clearance methods, distinguished by the use of a sealed catheter system inserted through an endotracheal or tracheostomy tube without disconnecting the patient from the mechanical ventilator, thereby maintaining positive pressure ventilation and reducing the risk of contamination and hypoxemia.
