Closed Nucleus Breeding

Closed Nucleus Breeding is a selective breeding system in which genetic improvement is confined to a hierarchically structured, self-sustaining population of elite animals or plants that are not augmented by external breeding stock, thereby maintaining strict genetic control and enabling cumulative genetic gain through superior selection intensity and accuracy within a closed, genetically isolated nucleus.
