Clastic Rock Physics
Clastic Rock Physics is a branch of rock physics that specifically investigates the physical properties and mechanical behavior of clastic rocks—such as sandstones, siltstones, and mudstones—by establishing quantitative relationships between their microstructural characteristics (e.g., grain geometry, porosity, cementation) and geophysical observables, thereby enabling improved interpretation of subsurface conditions from geophysical data.
