Chomsky Hierarchy

The Chomsky Hierarchy is a formal classification of formal grammars into four nested types—Type 0 (unrestricted), Type 1 (context-sensitive), Type 2 (context-free), and Type 3 (regular)—distinguished by their generative power and corresponding automata, forming a hierarchy of increasingly restricted syntactic rules governing language formation.
