About

Chirality is the geometric property of an object or system that is non-superposable on its mirror image, often referred to as handedness. As an academic concept and research field, it investigates the origins, manifestations, and consequences of this lack of mirror symmetry, particularly concerning the distinct physical, chemical, and biological properties exhibited by chiral entities (such as enantiomers) and their interactions; its significance spans fundamental physics, chemistry (stereochemistry, synthesis), and biology (molecular recognition, drug action).
