Child Refugees

Child Refugees is an academic construct denoting a distinct category of individuals under international protection frameworks, differentiated from other refugee populations by their status as persons under the age of eighteen who are compelled to flee their habitual environments due to persecution, conflict, or generalized violence, and who are recognized as requiring special legal, social, and developmental safeguards under instruments such as the 1951 Refugee Convention and the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
