Chekhovian Subtext

Chekhovian Subtext is a literary and dramatic theory within subtext interpretation that accounts for implicit narrative significance through the strategic foreshadowing and eventual realization of elements introduced early in a narrative, distinguishing itself by its adherence to the principle that every story element must contribute to later thematic or plot development.
