Charge-Transfer Transitions is an electronic transition in which an electron is formally transferred between a metal center and a ligand, or between different metal centers, distinguished from d-d transitions by involving a change in electron density distribution across constituent atoms and typically resulting in intense absorption bands in inorganic spectra.
