Centerline Segregation

Centerline Segregation is a type of macrosegregation characterized by the localized enrichment or depletion of solute elements at the centerline of a solidified ingot or casting, resulting from the interplay of solute redistribution, thermal gradients, and solidification shrinkage that promotes solute-rich liquid transport toward the central region during final stages of solidification.
