Cell Envelope Biogenesis

Cell Envelope Biogenesis is the biological process encompassing the coordinated assembly, modification, and spatial organization of the structural components of the microbial cell envelope, including the cytoplasmic membrane, cell wall, and outer membrane in Gram-negative bacteria or the thick peptidoglycan layer in Gram-positive bacteria, thereby establishing and maintaining the envelope's functional architecture during cell growth and division.
