Cationic Substitution Pathways is a reaction mechanism in organic chemistry wherein an electron-deficient cationic intermediate selectively undergoes substitution by attacking a nucleophilic site, distinguished from other substitution pathways by its dependence on the formation and stability of a positively charged species during the rate-determining step.
