Cationic Polymer Systems

Cationic Polymer Systems is a class of synthetic or natural polycationic macromolecules that function as non-viral gene delivery vectors by electrostatically condensing nucleic acids into nanosized complexes for cellular uptake, distinguished from other delivery systems by their cationic charge-dependent binding and ability to facilitate endosomal escape through the proton sponge effect.
