Catheter Insertion Bundle
A Catheter Insertion Bundle is a standardized set of evidence-based practices, implemented collectively during the placement of an indwelling urinary catheter, that differentiates itself from isolated interventions by requiring the concurrent execution of specific steps—such as hand hygiene, sterile barrier use, proper skin antisepsis, optimal catheter insertion technique, and daily assessment of catheter necessity—to maximize the prevention of catheter-associated urinary tract infections.
