Carbon Export Ratio

Carbon Export Ratio is a biogeochemical metric that quantifies the proportion of primary organic carbon production in the surface ocean that is transported and sequestered in the deep ocean, thereby distinguishing it from other carbon flux measures by specifically representing the efficiency of the biological pump in exporting carbon from the euphotic zone.
