Calcium-triggered Fusion

Calcium-Triggered Fusion is a biological mechanism of membrane fusion in which the rapid and localized influx of calcium ions acts as the primary regulatory signal to initiate the merging of lipid bilayers, distinguishing it from other fusion mechanisms that are mediated by alternative triggers such as pH changes or specific protein–protein interactions.
