Breeding Line Conversion

Breeding Line Conversion is a method in plant and animal breeding that involves the systematic replacement of the genetic background of a recurrent parent with a desired allele or gene from a donor parent through repeated backcrossing and selection, typically facilitated by marker-assisted introgression to accelerate the recovery of the recurrent parent's genome.
