Braced Frames

Braced Frame is a lateral force-resisting system in steel seismic design that consists of a structural framework with diagonal members specifically arranged to resist lateral loads through axial tension and compression, thereby distinguishing it from moment-resisting frames that rely on flexural resistance at beam-column connections.
