Boundary Value Eigenvalue Problems is a class of differential equation eigenvalue problems in which the eigenvalue-dependent differential operator acts on functions subject to specified conditions at the boundaries of the domain, distinguishing it from initial value or free-space eigenvalue problems by the imposition of constraints at boundary points.
