Boundary Lubrication Heating is a thermal phenomenon in tribology characterized by heat generation at the interface of contacting surfaces operating under boundary lubrication conditions, where the lubricant film is too thin to fully separate the surfaces, leading to increased friction and localized temperature rises due to direct asperity interactions.
