Boundary Current Upwelling

Boundary Current Upwelling is a physical oceanographic process in which wind-driven divergence along eastern boundaries of ocean basins induces the upward movement of cold, nutrient-rich deep water to the surface, distinguishing it from other upwelling types by its geographic confinement to coastal boundary currents and its dynamical linkage to large-scale wind stress curl and Ekman transport.
