Bottom Friction Dissipation

Bottom Friction Dissipation is a wave energy dissipation mechanism, within the broader class of hydrodynamic energy loss processes, that specifically arises from the shear stress and turbulent interaction between oscillatory water particle motion near the seabed and the bottom boundary, thereby converting wave energy into heat due to bed resistance.
