Border Gateway Protocol Vulnerabilities
Border Gateway Protocol Vulnerabilities is a class of network protocol vulnerabilities pertaining to weaknesses, misconfigurations, and exploitation methods inherent to the Border Gateway Protocol—a standardized exterior gateway protocol used to exchange routing information between autonomous systems on the Internet—that enable route hijacking, traffic interception, denial of service, or routing instability due to its trust-based design and lack of built-in authentication or route validation mechanisms.
