About

Black feminist ethics is a field of academic inquiry and ethical analysis that centers the experiences, perspectives, and moral agency of Black women. It investigates the ethical implications of interlocking systems of oppression (such as racism, sexism, and classism) and the distinctive moral frameworks that emerge from navigating these realities. Utilizing intersectional analysis, this approach critiques traditional ethical theories for their limitations in addressing the complexities of Black women's lives and develops liberatory ethical frameworks grounded in lived experience, community well-being, and resistance against injustice. Its significance lies in providing a critical theoretical lens that expands the scope of ethical discourse, highlights previously marginalized standpoints, and informs strategies for social justice and human flourishing.
