Birth-death Processes

Birth-Death Processes is a class of continuous-time Markov process on the non-negative integers in which, from any state, transitions are allowed only to the two neighboring states corresponding to the increment (birth) or decrement (death) of the state index, each occurring at prescribed state-dependent birth and death rates.
